Embossing Resist card

I saw a video tutorial by Beate Johns on Splitcoast stampers using this technique and thought it was a lovely idea. You can see Beate's tutorial here http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/puzzlepieceresist/

For my background I used a Stampin Up wheel called Very Vintage. The dies used are Spellbinders Nested Birds and the heart is from Wings of hope.

The Washi tape down the left side is from Trendy Tape.

I used Tim Holtz Distress Inks, my background is Iced Spruce, the little bird is done with Tumbled Glass and the Large bird which I cut on the reverse so it faced the opposite direction is done with Aged Mahogany and the heart with Worn Lipstick.

I used Stampin Up Dimensionals to mount my pieces so they're raised a little bit. The sentiment is from Stampin Up's Pendent Park stamp set.

A few gems to finish and give a little bit of bling which I find almost compulsory.

When doing the background, I found it easier to ink with Versa Mark embossing ink, roll once, add the clear embossing powder and heat emboss, this made sure I didn't mess up my previous row.

I found this an easy card to do, and really like the look of the background, opens up a whole heap of other ideas as well.

Thank you for visiting my Blog today.

Happy Crafting.
Hugs,
Beth
