Easter Bunny

28th February 2012

The March Challenge over at Unstampabelles is an Easter Theme, with a bonus for extra folds, as always, no stamps are to be used.
This challenge is sponsored by Blue Edge Crafts, A great place to shop online for all your crafting goodies. http://www.blueedgecrafts.com.au/shop/

My card for this challenge is Easter Bunny himself, as designed by Greg Sukendro, who in my humble opinion has the be the all time great of papercraft.

for my card I've used Bazzil Basics and double sided papers by Tim Coffey in a 6" x 6" paper pack. I also used Stampin Up punches, a Kaiser circle punch and created my sentiment on the computer.

The shape of the card is a fold back card with a buckle. The buckle goes behind the Circle behind Easter Bunny and into the slot. see the second image to see the card opened out.

Not a difficult card to make, and Easter Bunny might look complicated, but with a little patience cutting out all the individual elements, he's really an easy fellow to create.

Hope you like my entry for this months challenge. Why not give it a go yourself? Nothing ventured, nothing gained is very true, and it's such fun to meet these challenges.

Happy Crafting!

Hugs,
Beth

Sporty Boy

25th February 2012

I was asked to make a birthday card for an 8 year old boy who loves all sorts of sports.
This is the card I've made.

The base card is blue leather grain, nice and sturdy for a base card.
the dark blue layer is Stampin Up's 'Night of Navy' which I've embossed with a cuttlebug Happy Birthday embossing folder.
The Number 8 and 'Super' are cut from mid blue Bazzill cardstock using my eCraft and Fundamentals 1 ecard.
I don't have any dies for cricket bats or Tennis racquets, nor did I have any paper tole images, or rubber stamps, so what to do??
Well I'm no artist, but...... I think I did a pretty good job. Somebody who really can draw would no doubt do a far superior job, but I'm happy with mine. :-)

I used a Sakura glitter pen in the debossed Happy Birthday, to make them stand out a bit more, a few dots and dashes around the 8 and the super, a couple of balls and here it is!

I've now decided that I'm going to create my own digi images for future use.

Necessity being the mother of invention and all that stuff hey!

Happy Crafting and may your Mojo always run hot!

Hugs,
Beth

Scrappy Card

24th February 2012

As you will know from a previous post, the Challenge at Unstampabelles this month is recycle, frugal etc.
With this still in mind, the following card came into being.
Other than the base card, and the computer generated and printed centre of the topper, all the bits on this card are scraps left over from other cards.
Amazing what a strip of card, and a border punch can do, team that with an embossing folder and a spellbinders die.........

Here it is!

I almost forgot to mention the scrap of lace, it just fitted the card. The only things that weren't scraps were the rhinestones and the ribbon bow.

Thank you for looking,

Happy Crafting.

Hugs,
Beth

Thursday Craft

23 February 2012

Home again and back to crafting with Heather. We started off with no idea of what we were going to do today,

Todays cards are for Babies. we did one for a girl and one for a boy.

We started off with an A5 piece of white card and made a side step card. Products used in todays cards are:
Stampin Up Inkpads Regal Rose and Pacific Point,  and decorative label punch. Blue cardstock (discontinued colour)
Kasazze products are: onesie and bib die, bottle stamp, bootie stamp, teddy stamp, pearl brads, white cardstock.
Kaiser border punch ( Ribbon and bow)

Last night I had to quickly make a card for a friend. Since coming home, I've been in a mentally unhappy place. Leaving my sister, and knowing how very ill she is has sent me into a sort of depression. Anyway, I had a little difficulty in getting my head around what to do for the friends birthday (which by the way is today, so it HAD to be made last night)
I'm happy with what I produced. I used my eCraft to cut the letters, bottle and glass, and cuttlebug embossing folders for the back ground, a bit of inking around the edge and here it is.

Hope he likes it!

Anyway Happy Crafting! and always tell those you love that you love them.

Hugs,

Beth

Just checking in

10th February 2012

If you have been checking in for new posts, then please accept my apologies. I'm away from home staying with my very ill sister.
I can log on briefly, and while I brought some craft stuff with me and am making cards, I don't have the facilities to photograph and post them.
I return home on the 20th and will get stuff sorted and posted after that.

Have you checked out the latest challenge over at Unstampabelles? It certainly got my brain working. give it a go! and enjoy the fun of creating.

Catch up with you all soon.

Hugs and Happy Crafting.

Unstampabelles February Challenge - The Dragon

3rd February 2012

This card has been made for the DT Unstampabelles February Challenge.
The requirements are: Recycle, Eco Craft, Frugal and bonus technique of paper beads.

February's challenge is sponsored by:

Cardmaking Online has been running for two years and offers a large range of card making products, including Parchment Craft, European style card making, card stitching, 3D Decoupage, embossing folders and dies, Hobbyjournaal magazine, cardstock, peel-off stickers and more. you can go to Cardmaking Online by clicking on the link below.

This is the prize on offer for the winner of this months challenge at Unstampabelles.

For my base card I used Kraft card by Stampin Up which I edged with Distress ink Vintage Photo, it gives the effect of another layer without the actual layer.

The blue layer is a scrap of blue metallic gift wrap.
The brown layer is packing paper used in my Stampin Up orders, I embossed it with a Cuttlebug folder, then used Distress embossing ink over the embossed image, then clear embossing powder, I repeated the ink, emboss 4 times, my aim was to create something which might look like dragon scales /skin.
the striped card behind the punched dragon and the sentiment, is from a box of chocolates.

The dragon is punched out of a scrap of blue bazzil card as is the backing for the peel off sentiment.

My first attempt at making paper beads wasn't a total disaster, (I googled paper beads, and came up with heaps of tutorials and videos to show me how to do them)  I used normal 80gsm printer / copier paper, which was trimmed off the insert for another card, and then inked them with distress inks when finished.

I can honestly say this card is recycle personified. it's basic, frugal and oh so scrappy! lol

I'm really pleased with my ability to meet the requirements, I don't usually do 'frugal' cards
It looks a bit bowed in the photo due to it being a tent fold card. sorry about my lousy photography!

Pop over to Unstampabelles challenges and have a go!, you might even win yourself some goodies, and you gotta be in it to win it!
Happy Crafting

Hugs,
Beth
